I have friends who joined sororities and went through the pledging process, and when they were sick they told their pledge master and stayed in. If you didn't have the respect for your sisters to confidently say you were sick, then maybe that is the problem. Accountability is the only way that an organization of peers can run, and maybe if you stepped away from the self-absorption that you clearly display in your article, you would see why your pledge master and the other girls did what they did to you. You didn't want girls to look the other way when you walked by? Maybe you should've worked on earning their respect and contributing your part to the house and your fellow sisters as opposed to bitching every time someone told you to do something you didn't want to do. Maybe you should have been in it for the potential friendships and experiences you could share, not the chef or the rides or the assurance that some prettier girl wouldn't steal your man at a party.  The point of the pledging process is to establish unity and accountability, to put in your time, to earn the respect of the older members and the PC members, and to weed out spoiled brats like you.  It sounds like you are the problem, not the people you were pledging with and to.
