Not only is it costly and ineffecient, the fine system inhereted from New Orleans Public Service Inc. having been destroyed by the politicians and local and federal bureaucrats, but it is operated in a criminally negligent manner with complete disregard for public safety. Several near tragedies were only averted by luck and the heroism of veteran employees. Naturally, both USDOT and our corrupt local "news media" have swept the facts under the rug.
